A Girl in Trouble

Songs are great inspirations for creative writing since they are of course, stories set to music. Often, I'm driving along and lyrics on the stereo invoke instant scenarios and snapshots for stories. Every musical era and genre can affect me this way at one time or another.

Romeo Void's "Girl in Trouble":

A girl in trouble is a temporary thing.
There's a time when every girl learns to use her head.
Tears will be saved 'til they're better spent.
There's no time for her to be afraid,
so instead she takes care of business, keeps a cool head.
A girl in trouble is a temporary thing.

Watch music video. (give it a break...it was the 80s!)

Beautiful lyrics! I think one of the most evocative music genres is the big band sound of the 40's. For me it instantly creates images of shoulder pads, fedoras, bright red lipstick and smoke-filled bars (even though it all happened long before I was born!)

Hi Sharyn, I can relate to what you're saying about the 40s big bands. It does get the imagination going! Thanks for commenting.
